Eugenics in Obama's America

The controversial comments made in a New York Times interview by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg concerning Roe vs. Wade speak a great deal to how morally bankrupt our nation has become. What - you say you're not aware of these comments? Well, my friends, that is part of the tale I have to tell you. Please read on.

In a wide-ranging interview with the New York Times, Justice Ginsberg waxed eloquent on all things related to feminism. Near the end of the interview, she is asked about the Supreme Court upholding the Hyde Amendment which prohibits Medicaid funding for abortions:

Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae — in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn’t really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong.

Justice Ginsberg is surprised the Court upheld the prohibition on Medicaid funding for abortions because a "woman of means" can afford an abortion but poor women can't. She thought Roe vs. Wade was enacted in part because of her perception of society's concern about overpopulation, "particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of." The Court reached a decision that, in her view, would have the opposite impact.

I want to be careful here. I don't know from this interview if Justice Ginsberg agrees with the concept of using abortion to suppress population growth among "undesirables." She is speaking of the prevailing attitudes at the time. Clearly, the circles in which she traveled must have believed in abortion as targeted population control. The dictionary definition of such a policy is eugenics:

"Eugenics is 'the study of, or belief in, the possibility of improving the qualities of the human species or a human population by such means as discouraging reproduction by persons having genetic defects or presumed to have inheritable undesirable traits (negative eugenics) or encouraging reproduction by persons presumed to have inheritable desirable traits (positive eugenics).'"

Eugenics was the foundation of Nazi Germany's drive toward the "perfect race" which was achievable only by encouraging "good" Germans to procreate and eliminating "Lebensunwertes Leben" - life unworthy of life. The founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a leader of the American eugenics movement in the mid-20th century, advocating the use of sterilization, abortion and birth control to "stop bringing to birth children whose inheritance cannot be one of health or intelligence."

Eugenics has a toehold in America despite being publicly discredited after the Holocaust. One of every two black babies is aborted. Black women make up 13% percent of the female population but underwent over 36% of all abortions. Eighty percent of aborturaries are located in minority neighborhoods. 16 million black babies and counting have been murdered since Roe vs. Wade. I can recite these statistics by heart, and that to me is heartbreaking. Black pro-life advocates call abortion "black genocide" and what is maddening is our willing participation in our own destruction. Ms. Sanger's "Negro Project" is working:

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

The other telling fact is had it not been for a conservative public relations consultant who is a friend of mine, I would not have known of Justice Ginsberg's statement. I did a news search and her statement was addressed prominently by pro-life and conservative websites, blogs and news outlets but largely ignored by the mainstream news media. Censorship? Hard to say. A lack of concern? Probably. Acquiescence? Frightening.

So here we have the most anti-life President in American history if the speed and scope of his policy changes regarding life are any indication. We have a sitting Supreme Court Justice casually discussing eugenics as a prevailing societal concept. We have a press that doesn't even blink at the horror of her words. Welcome to the brave new world.

Ron excellent post. If you take a real close look at this Obama administration and his Healthcare Plan plus his stand on abortion it is pretty much all about controlling population. For those not yet born and for seeing that the elderly make it to earlier graves. If the left has any remaining morality it would be hard to find.

Ron, great post! I'm not shocked by her comments. This is how the liberals truly feel. It amazes me that Sangers' "Negro Project" goes beyond anything an American could think up, let alone act on! I can't believe there aren't a million black Conservatives? Is it the "free" "hand-outs" from the Gov. that keep them in the dark? Can a white Conservative like myself even begin to try and talk to my black "liberal/dem" friends about this outrage? I can't, everytime I try and state proven facts on what abortion is intended for via Planned Parenthood, or mention how racist the dem. party is, I'm the one they call racist...It just boggles my mind how a mass of population can be so dumb-struck for idiocy...Good luck in your run Ron! God bless you too!

This amazes me !!! This needs to be sent out to every black person on the planet but I honestly don't think they would believe it. President Obama and the other socialist liberals have even white people believing thier horse hockey. I hate to say if abortions were free there might be NO black children born. Isn't funny that the poor can't see the racism in this? I believe what started out against the Negro Nation has gone on to include poor whites as well.

most black americans do not remember george wallace, and what he and his party stood for. i was in avondale ohio when the riots broke out against all white people when this democrat was running for president. i feel bad for my fellow americans who are black because they have not been taught the truth about who the true racist are.obama is not for the blacks,or mexicans,he and his party are now using these people for votes, and when the socialist agendas are passed, and they find themselves screwed,it will be too late for them. i am also surprised that the black americans are not outraged at the illegal immagrants, who are given more than they, including jobs.obama takes it for granted that he has the black vote,so create diversions, and go for the illegal immagrants votes. another thing that ticks me off is the fact that these immagrants do not give a hoot for the constitution,or the wellbeing of america, just what they can get from us. why else would they vote for another hugo chavez?

Immagrants. Nice. If you are going to demean an entire group of people, at least learn to spell your racist epithet.

Funny, but conservatives are usually the ones vilifying folks on welfare. Nice to see you guys defending them for a change.

Hey cheesegypsy, what about the article? You see nothing wrong with Justice Ginsberg's statements? what about Mr. Millers thesis overall and Sanger's revealed plans and philosophies which informed the thinking of influential liberal leaders like Ginsberg? Do they "demean an entire group of people" ?

I had heard of this; online of course, as I believe the MSM would never mention the vile words from a left wing liberal such as Ginsberg. You mentioned % of blacks and I will admit that the ratio in their population is high. Do you also know California stopped reporting their abortion numbers back in 2005 saying there were too many to keep track of any longer. Another little tidbit I have noticed but only have the data to go on: Since Roe v. Wade was ,I believe wrongly, decided, 55,000,000+ abortions have been performed. Of those 55,000,000+ aborted American babies, 32,000,000+ would be of working age, between 18-38 years old. We have experienced, since Roe v. Wade, an increase in illegal and legal immigration of 35,000,000+ with I believe 22-25,000,000+ being illegals. I cannot prove a correlation because the data is so scewed by the forces that are pro-choice and pro-illegal immigration. Anyway I think it is nateworthy. Keep up the good work and remember, another 3,000,000+ babies will be aborted this year alone.

Thanks for your post Ron. I read Margaret Sangers book about 20 years ago where she outlined her vision to limit growth of certain ethnic populations. Her original targets were Negroes, Irish and Italians as they had the largest families. I worked at a downtown hospital and would hear young girls speak about abortion in their community. I would draw comparisons to the original concept of Planned Parenthood and the number of abortions in the minority community. I will say some of the women understood the similarities but most just thought I was "pro-life". I am pro-life so my next question would be along the lines of "do you think the M.S. of the world are really concerned with your welfare? Then I would comment that in my opinion it is continuation of oppression of poor and minority populations. Keep trying to get the word out and I will continue to speak up as situations present themselves.

Outstanding article Ron. It is alarming that the news is not being presented honestly. It is imperative to a free society to listen pragmatically to all sides of an argument, not just the arguments we want to hear. The remarks that Justice Ginsburg made should be chilling for any person, liberal or conservative. It illustrates very clearly how the majority of Americans are simply kept "out of the loop" and given only filtered information that does not educate them and does not contibute to scholarly debate. This is not a free press in action, but rather the subversion of propaganda! In short, thanks for posting this article and exposing this information.

Great post, Mr Miller. Pay no mind to cheesegypsy--he should stick to his hanging out at huffingtonpost. At the end of the day, Sanger, Ginsburg, et al., are racist elitists.

Compared to what zombietime is reporting on John Holdren, Obama's Science Czar. (At the moment, zombie seems to be enjoying a traffic bounce, and won't load the main page.)
